(Another) Rear Window by BairBalliet is a voyeuristic short film about a love affair between the interior and the exterior, and the window between. This project is both site-specific (responding to a vernacular brick storefront) and disciplinary in its concerns (engaging discussions of drawing and representation).
The Night Gallery is a space for exhibiting architectural projections in a 6’x7’ storefront window. It is open from sundown to sunrise; in spring, summer, and fall (May-November). “Projection” is defined as both a medium—projected onto a window screen—and a mode of work—projecting new ways of seeing the built environment and concepts for future change. Projections include, but are not limited to, animations, responsive maps, data-tracking graphics, interactive websites, sensor-based installations. In 2017, the inaugural season features six shows, each of which opens on the third Friday of the month. The gallery features a place to sit and is open to all. The Night Gallery is a project by Future Firm, in Bridgeport, Chicago.
