Celebrate with art, food, music with local North Lawndale gardeners, chefs, and artists. Come out to see the bLUMEN public sculpture project that was funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, Our Town Grant. Iker Gil and Petra Bachmaier worked with community and School of the Art Institute design students in partnership with the Park District's, Homan Park Community Center and Foundation for Homan Square. Ceira Missack from AM/FM Gallery will bring the best West Side artists out to celebrate under the night lights with the community's garden fresh harvest!
SAIC at Homan Square is a platform to amplify what is already there by adding resources and bringing in others. SAIC aspires to use making and design with community organizing in projects for civic engagement.
