When a renowned architectural scholar falls ill during a speaking tour, his son Jin finds himself stranded in Columbus, Indiana. Set against the city’s modernist buildings, this visually stunning film follows the son (John Cho) as he strikes up a friendship with Casey, a local architecture enthusiast (Haley Lu Richardson). As their intimacy develops, Jin and Casey explore both the town and their own conflicted emotions. Exhibit Columbus curators Anne Surak and Jonathan Nesci will discuss the film’s iconic backdrop in relationship to the Chicago Architecture Biennial and Exhibit Columbus’ exhibitions.
