Cheryl Pope’s SAIC at Homan Square class, Fashion+ Body+ Beats, explores the physicality of the garments in community. The class works with community on garments responding to sound, music, ceremony, and the North Lawndale neighborhood. Visitors will participate with students in their research, make Protection Necklaces, and learn about design as a method to foster commual healing.
