As part of the Chicago Architecture Biennial, and on occasion of the opening of the iconic Midtown Athletic Club Chicago, DMAC Architecture invites you “Decentralizing Chicago”, an exploration of high quality hospitality offerings popping up beyond Chicago’s core downtown. Led by a tour of the premises by Dwayne MacEwen, AIA, the panel takes place at the iconic Midtown Athletic Club, reimagined as a contemporary lifestyle epicenter with a two-story hotel. Following a $75 Million renovation, the project brings life into a neighborhood recently considered an industry district. An activation that decentralizes the cultural and entertainment offering in Chicago, democratizing the city’s layout.
The conversation will be moderated by Cynthia Noble, CEO and Founder of Noble Art Tours and Adjunct Lecturer at the Art Institute. Panelists joining are:
- Dwayne MacEwen, AIA, Founder and Principal, DMAC Architecture
- Lynn Osmond, Hon, AIA, CAE, President & CEO, Chicago Architecture Foundation (CAF)
- Charles Porter, Managing Principal, Development Management Associates (DMA)
- Eric Nordness, Senior Vice President & CFO, Hickory Street Capital
