September 5 - November 4, 2017

¡Sí, Se Puede! draws on the respective archives of Cesar Chavez, and Dolores Huerta and their work with the UFW (United Farm Workers) Movement. For the exhibition, five artists have immersed themselves in portions of the archive to create new work. In addition to the artist’s works, there will be a curated section of Victor Alemán’s photographs of UFW activities. Taking place at Columbia College's Glass Curtain Gallery, and spanning along the Wabash Arts Corridor with two new murals, this program provides a crucible for creating a dialogue about self-determination movements and the relationships between the archive, history, and contemporary culture.

Featuring work by: Victor Alemán, William Estrada, Ian Kerstetter, Victoria Martinez, and Nicole Marroquin, and Gloria “ Gloe” Talamantes, with murals by Hector Duarte and Sam Kirk.

This exhibition is generously supported by the Joyce Foundation.
