Since 2003, Preservation Chicago has maintained a list of the 7 Most Endangered Buildings, Districts, or Public Spaces in Chicago. Preservation Chicago takes suggestions from the public as well as their Board of Directors and votes on which Chicago treasures are most in need of awareness and preservation. 2017’s 7 Most Endangered are: Chicago Union Station Power House, Altgeld Gardens, Chicago's 20th Century Public Sculptures in the Loop, the Chicago Water Cribs, Jackson Park, South Shore Cultural Center, and the Madison-Pulaski Commercial District. Preservation Chicago conducts significant research to highlight the architectural significance of these sites, ideas for landmarking and reuse, and the importance of these places to the Chicago community. This bus tour is guided by Ward Miller, Executive Director of Preservation Chicago, and Jacob Kaplan of Forgotten Chicago.
