German-born architect Jana Revedin, professor at the Ecole spéciale d'architecture in Paris, explains the history, sense and mission of the Global Awards for Sustainable Architecture, which she founded. The fifty-five architects from around the globe who have received the award believe in architecture “with the people for the people,” and see themselves as agents of empowerment, self-development and civic rights.
This event is organized by the Alliance Française de Chicago, whose mission is to be Chicago’s center of French language and French-speaking cultures—to promote exchange, understanding, and friendship between Americans and French-speaking people—from Europe, Canada, Cajun country, Africa, the Caribbean and the Middle East—a world of over 220 million French speakers.
