Before and After Architecture
Nuno Brandão Costa and André Cepeda present a selection of constructed works with different briefs, scales, and times from two fundamental elements: the concept drawing (done by hand) and the current photographic record documented by Cepeda. The drawings and the photographic record exist as two temporally opposed moments: the embryonic moment in the construction of an idea in opposition to the work constructed and in use. The drawing is a synthesis of the idea, and essentially adds the references of the project and the work constructed, finished, already used, or still under construction.

Nuno’s work was included in the Portuguese representation of the 8th Venice Biennale International Exhibition, the São Paulo Architecture Biennale, Portugal Now at Cornell University in New York, Tradition is Innovation in Tokyo, and the Milan Architecture Triennale.
