Conversations on Community Spaces
June - December 2017

The National Hellenic Museum's current exhibition is an exploration of the theme of community. Visitors are invited to join the conversation by contributing to chalkboard walls, which pose important questions throughout the exhibit. The walls are paired with architectural models of Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, Unity Temple, St. Benedict the African Catholic Church, and the Perlman Sanctuary of North Shore Congregation Israel, courtesy of Sacred Spaces International. Each of these buildings was built to accommodate a specific community, with architects Peter E. Camburas; Frank Lloyd Wright; James Belli, Belli & Belli Architects; and Thomas Beeby, respectively, responding to the particular needs of each congregation.
